What Your Experienced Lawyers Should Know About Blogging And Social Media

Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers What Your Experienced Lawyers Should Know about Blogging and Social Media This week I am doing programs across the country on blogging and social media for experienced lawyers. I believe I was asked to do the program because I am an experienced lawyer myself. My goal is to convince experienced lawyers that they are prime candidates to use these tools successfully. When I talk about blogging, I will once again say: Social media, among other things is a distribution tool that allows you to broaden who reads your materials by “pulling” them to it. When I practiced law, I did not have the social media tools available to me. I was fortunate to be able to write a column for a leading trade publication. In 2011, my distribution channels are vastly increased because of the internet and social media. I am not positive I would do all these things, but I would certainly consider taking valuable content I created and: How much time do you believe I would have invested in doing the 10 things above? I suspect I would not have invested more than an hour and if i was in a large law firm I would have invested even less.   I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.
